Roger Hermiston left BBC Radio 4's Today programme after nearly 20 years to pursue a writing career and other projects. His blog will chronicle the week-by-week trials & tribulations of a new writer, getting to grips with the process & learning how to craft elegant 8,000-word chapters instead of 2,000-word articles. There will be stories about time on the road doing research, & an insight into his psychological state as he confronts the solitude, the loneliness of working in the writer's bubble.
